Dromara to host jubilee celebrations

DROMARA: Members of a local orange Lodge have launched an event to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in Dromara village. The event includes family entertainment in the village square, a church service and parade and will take place on Saturday 26 May.

Scott Carson, a member of the Lodge, urged everyone in the area to support the event.

He said: “This is a very important national event and we felt that Dromara should recognise this outstanding achievement by our monarch.

“We have been successful in gaining grant aid from Lisburn City Council through the Diamond Jubilee fund and this financial boost will help to bring members of the local community together in what we hope will be a successful event. I believe this will create an opportunity for local people to join together in celebration and I would urge many within the community to support the event.”

The family fun entertainment, which will include a bouncy castle, musical entertainment refreshments, will begin in the village square at 3pm. The parade hosted by Dromara LOL 12 will begin at 7pm at the Orange Hall and will proceed to Second Dromara Presbyterian Church prior to a return parade.
