Dromore customers help raise £5,000 for Barnardo’s

DROMORE customers of Terra Travel have helped raise £5,000 for Barnardo’s NI over the past year, just by booking holidays.

So said the managing director of the independent travel-agent as he outlined how the launch last September of the ‘Give a Child a Break’ scheme saw Terra Travel donate 2.5 percent to Barnardo’s NI from the sale of every holiday booked.

“We are delighted,” said Damian Murphy, “that our Give a Child a Break initiative has raised £5,000 for Barnardo’s NI to date and appreciate the support of our customers, including those from Dromore.

“By booking through the scheme our customers have been able to go on holiday knowing they have also helped support local vulnerable and disadvantaged children.

“Terra Travel is committed to continuing its support for Barnardo’s NI and will host a range of new events in aid of the children’s charity over the coming year.”

Leona McEvoy, Business Development Manager, Barnardo’s NI said:, “The money raised will go directly towards Barnardo’s NI work supporting children locally including young carers, children with disabilities and children who have been bereaved.”
