Dromore High pupils enjoy Paris trip

Dromore High School pupils recently enjoyed a languages trip to Paris.

The very full programme ensured that the 43 pupils and five staff saw many aspects and sights of this famous city.

After flying into Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport the group took a coach to the Stade de France for a full guided tour of France’s national football and rugby stadium, including the edge of pitch, stands, changing rooms and the souvenir shop.

Next stop was Montparnasse Tower, using the fastest lift in Europe to travel 196 metres in 38 seconds.

At the top there were spectacular 360° views of the city from viewing galleries, including the outdoor rooftop one.

This was followed by a visit to Arc de Triomphe, another iconic symbol of Paris, to see the evening lights of the city from the top.

The group enjoyed a guided coach tour of central Paris, with lots of opportunities for photos, especially at the Eiffel Tower.

This was followed by a boat cruise on the river Seine.

A visit to Disneyland Paris was a highlight for many pupils and it ended with the light show and fireworks, then dinner of burgers in Planet Hollywood in the Disney Village.

The final visit of the trip was one of the most memorable: the Eiffel Tower.

Most pupils went to the very top but everyone had spectacular views of the city, even from the second floor platform.

The conduct of all the pupils during the trip was excellent and everyone thoroughly enjoyed this four day unforgettable experience.
