Heaney also admitted eight breaches of a probation order. These were revoked and replaced with a two year probation order to run from last Friday.

The court heard that the injured party reported to police on October 14 that the day before Heaney had called at her through the front living room window and had called into her again the next afternoon.

A barrister for the defendant said that he and the injured party live in the same street and pass each other’s houses.

She added that there were no threats made, Heaney just shouted through the door as he walked past. The couple had been in a relationship.

The barrister said Heaney had a long standing problem with alcohol.

A condition of his probation is that he attends as domestic abuse programme.
