Dromore WI welcomes more than two for tea

PRESIDENT, Helen McKendry, welcomed visitors from a number of other institutes to the recent monthly meeting of Dromore Women’s Institute.

Among the guests were members of Loughbrickland, Lenaderg, Maze/Brookfield and Fourtowns WIs.

Ross Thompson of Punjana Tea was guest speaker for the evening.

“He gave a brilliant talk, with the aid of slides, on the picking and blending of tea leaves and how the Thompson family perfected the Punjana Blend,” a spokeswoman said.

Sally Wilson was named winner of the competition, for a Home-made Oven Wheaten.

The committee served tea and everyone went home with a packet of tea courtesy of the Thompson family.
