Nicola Convery (32), File Mile Straight, Maghera, was also given five points and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that on November 30 last year a vehicle came up from behind a police patrol.

It was travelling at 90mph from the Hillsborough Road, Dromore access.

Police followed the defendant on the A1 southbound and her speed was between 80mph and 90mph.

Convery did not appear in court but pleaded guilty by way of a letter.

District Judge, Mr Paul Copeland, said she was a staff nurse with an exemplary record.

But, he added, on this occasion events though the course of her work had an upsetting effect on her.

The judge added that he was prepared to take a lenient view of the case.
