Drove without having insurance

A LURGAN man was fined £250 last Thursday at Craigavon court for driving without having insurance on September 28 last year.

Gerald Robert Weir (27), of Mourne Road, Lurgan, was also given six penalty points for the offence.

The court heard he was stopped while driving a van on the Lough Road, Lurgan.

A solicitor for Weir said he had been moving into rented accommodation. His father had a van at his house and agreed the defendant could use it.

He had his own car and had insurance for it but was not covered for the van.
