Drove without insurance

A 24 year old man was fined £250 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without insurance on January 10.

Marian Ciurar, of Princeton Drive, Lurgan, also received six penalty points.

The court heard that a police mobile patrol in Mourneview saw the defendant come out of Princeton Drive.

Police carried out checks and found there was no insurance for the vehicle. The defendant was stopped on Millennium Way and admitted he did not have insurance.

He told police he had recently sold his vehicle and didn’t have the time to insure this one.

A solicitor for the defendant said he had bought the car the week before. He was driving to the shops that night.
