Drugs arrest in Randalstown

Police in Randalstown have arrested a 34-year-old man and seized a substantial quantity of class B drugs after stopping a car on the town’s Main Street.

Superintendent Ryan Henderson said the car was stopped during a routine vehicle check on Monday night.

He said: “These checks serve a number of purposes, for example to detect drink drivers or to deter travelling criminals committing crimes such as rural theft. After stopping the car at around 10pm, officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis coming from inside.
