Drugs fears

A COUNCILLOR says something needs to be done to stop the use of illegal drugs being promoted at the Lammas Fair.

Independent representative Colum Thompson was speaking at a meeting of Moyle Council.

He said items like pipes and tee-shirts promoting drug use are on sale at the Fair and he said the vendors of such items should be “sent home again”.

He said imagery associated with drugs should not be the memory tourists go away with.

Cllr Padraig McShane said it was a valid point but it is “difficult to police” stalls at the Fair.
