Lukasz Lubkaiwoz (32), Mark Street, Lurgan, was fined £100 for possession of cannabis resin on April 10 last year and £100 for possession of amphetamine. He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that police were called to a domestic incident at William Street, Lurgan.

While there they saw a small bag of yellow tablets and a search uncovered two sets of scales, a grinder, suspected cannabis resin, bags of white powder and blue tablets which were diazepam.

Mr Gabriel Ingram, representing the defendant, said that Lubkaiwoz was injured in a car accident in 2012 and because of a serious hip injury had been unable to work since then.

He added that the defendant found himself mixing with the wrong crowd and got himself into criminal offending which increased in 2013. In December he had received a custodial sentence and had only been released on May 30.

District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said that because these offences happened when Lubkaiwoz had only one offence on his record he would deal with the matter by way of fines.
