Drugs found in searches

POLICE have urged residents to continue to report suspicious activity to them after drugs and drugs paraphernalia were found at a number of houses in the area on Thursday night.

Police in Dunmurry carried out three searches to properties under the Misuse of Drugs Act on Thursday evening, November 29.

At one address at Chestnut Park a substantial amount of white powder, tablet grinders, Viagra and a small quantity of cannabis were recovered.

During a search at another location at Glenbawn Park a 39-year-old man was cautioned after he handed over a small bag of cannabis. He will be reported to the PPS.

Three small bags of cannabis were also seized during a search at Pembroke Manor.

Sector Inspector Mark Robinson said that the police will continue to crack down on drugs and urged people to report suspicious activity to them.

“Local officers remain dedicated to carrying out proactive searches against drugs and drug dealers. Every piece of community information we receive goes into building up a picture of where the main drugs activity is located and who is involved,” he said.

“I would encourage people to continue to report any concerns they have regarding drugs and to pass on any information that could help us identify dealers and place them before the courts.”
