Drugs: Police arrest man after chase

A 27-year-old man arrested by police in Ballymena on Tuesday afternoon (February 24) after a pursuit by officers has been charged with drugs offences.

Chief Inspector Stephen McCauley said: “The man was chased after he was approached by officers and ran off. Nineteen bags of herbal cannabis and 140 tablets were found in a nearby hedge row. The man was subsequently charged with possession of class B and C drugs with intent to supply.”

A police spokesperson stated that, as is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).
