Drugs raid: Man released

The 41-year-old man arrested yesterday, Sunday, by Detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch on suspicion of drugs offences, has since been released on police bail.

The arrest occurred yesterday following a search of a house at Greeysteele. He was released on bail pending further police enquiries.

Detectives from the Reactive and Organised Crime Branch conducted the search on suspicion of the following suspected offences: Attempted possession of Class C controlled drugs; attempted possession of Class C controlled drugs with intent to supply; conspiracy to supply class C controlled drugs; the importation of Class C controlled drugs; possession of Class C Drugs, and possession of Class C Drugs with intent to supply

The ROCB said the arrest was linked to the seizure of a significant quantity of suspected Class C controlled drugs, namely steroids, which were en route to an address in the Greysteele area.

Detective Inspector Tom McClure said: “ One again we are grateful to our Partners in the National Crime Agency for their timely assistance in this intervention. The PSNI is committed to policing the threat posed by drugs in Northern Ireland and will continue to work with our colleagues in NCA and elsewhere in relation to detecting those involved in the illegal supply of drugs.”

For your guidance This is the 2nd seizure within the last month in respect of the supply of Class C controlled drugs (steroids) in the North West.
