Drumaheagles parade this Saturday

DRUMAHEAGLES Young Defenders will be holding their annual competition parade and festival this Saturday (21st August) in Ballymoney, all bands are cordially invited to attend.

Drumaheagles support over 70 other bands throughout the year and over 50 bands are expected to attend.

The pre-parade festival will commence at 7 pm from the Main Stage on High Street with a selection of marching bands from across Northern Ireland taking to the stage to play a few sets for the entertainment of the crowds.

The Main Parade will start at 8:30 pm from the North Road. This year the procession will be led by the Sons of William melody flute from Cookstown. The parade will include many of Northern Ireland's top bands, travelling from as far a field as South Down, South Armagh, West Tyrone and the cities of Londonderry and Belfast. All bands particularly those from the local area are asked to assemble from 8 pm at North Road to ensure a smooth flow of bands around the route.

The parade will conclude with the hosts taking to the route and finishing with a selection of tunes in front of the Main Stage on High Street. The Results of the Competition will be announced and trophies presented in the usual categories. Afterwards there will be Disco's held in both the Imperial Bar and Manor Hotel (at the bottom of Main Street). A number of Bands will be playing at the event in the Manor Hotel.

Drumaheagles would like to thank the 56 bands that supported last years parade and the members of the Public for their turnout and support.
