Drunk man was abusive to police

A LURGAN man who was abusive to police was fined £200 last Thursday at Craigavon court for disorderly behaviour on October 4.

He was 39-year-old Seamus McGuigan, of Garland Avenue, Lurgan, and he admitted the offence through solicitor, Mr Conor Downey.

The court heard that at 6.40pm police went to Garland Avenue where they saw the defendant. He was intoxicated and became abusive to them.

McGuigan was warned about his behaviour but he continued and was arrested because there were young children playing in the vicinity.

When cautioned he told police: “Don’t be an a--hole.”

Mr Downey said his client accepted he had far too much alcohol taken.
