The deal will see Nectar International Ltd’s range of ‘Soap Story’ products in the Landmark group’s outlets in the Middle East, Africa and India.

Simon Waring, managing director of the Sloefield Drive-based company, said: “Thanks to regular market visits and participation in Invest NI trade missions, we have already enjoyed success in this market.

“This contract is for an initial trial order to supply our soap products to Landmark outlets in 10 countries, including Dubai and India, and we see this as the beginning of a very fruitful relationship.

“We recognise that the future growth of our business will largely be driven by export sales and I believe we secured this business because of our passion and determination to succeed in the UAE market.

“Invest NI’s guidance and practical assistance has also been critically important to the development of our business and in signing this deal with Landmark.”

Nectar International has been manufacturing a large range of high quality handmade bath, beauty and fragrance products in Northern Ireland since 1981.

Congratulating the firm at the product launch in Dubai, Enterprise Minister Jonathan Bell said: “Nectar is an excellent example of a successful Northern Ireland company who continues to invest in its future and recognises the importance of exporting.

“The company have participated on many Invest Northern Ireland trade missions and in November 2015 took part in a trade mission to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. It was here they successfully closed this deal with Landmark, one of the biggest retailers across the Middle East, Africa and the Indian sub-continent.”

The minister added: “Nectar has already seen success from its commitment to sales outside Northern Ireland. Over 90 per cent of its products are now exported primarily to Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.”
