Dublin Marathon run in daughters memory

On Sunday 30th October Chris McAuley from Ballycastle will be taking part in the Dublin Marathon raising funds for TinyLife, Northern Ireland's premature baby charity, in memory of his baby daughter Erin who passed away in tragic circumstances in May 2008.

Local man Chris, who is married to Louise and has two sons Criostai aged 12 and Feargus aged 5, has been involved with TinyLife since 2008, helping to raise awareness of the charity in the Glens of Antrim and the North Coast areas as well as raising much needed funds through many fundraising events over the years. TinyLife, formerly NIMBA, provides practical and emotional support to the families of premature and sick babies across the province through their raft of Family Support services. Every day in Northern Ireland 6 babies are born too soon, some arriving as early as 24 weeks and weighing as little as 1lb.

Without the support of local people they would not be able to bring these services to local families in their time of need. Running the Dublin marathon this year will be Chris’s ninth marathon and anyone wishing to support him can visit his Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Chrismc1 or by texting BAMS75 £1 to 70070. Donations made go directly to the charity.

On his justgiving page Chris added: “The countdown is well and truely on for the Dublin Marathon with 5 weeks to go. I have had good runs and bad runs but I keep motivated with focus on the great work of TinyLife Premature Baby Charity and what good can be done with you the publics donations you have made.
