Duncastle works approved

Aldermen Gary Middleton and Maurice Devenney on the Duncastle Road.

Mr Middleton said: “The DUP have been working on this issue for some time and we are delighted to see this section of road has now been upgraded.

“We have had several site meetings and many phone calls with Roads Service to have potholes repaired and indeed the road resurfaced.”

The DUP councillor for the Rural electoral area said the upgrade will be welcomed by people in the Newbuildings area who regularly use the road.

He said he was hoping to see similar works across Londonderry’s rural hinterland.

“We are seeking further road upgrades in the rural areas and we look forward to seeing these come to fruition in the coming months.

“I would like to commend Roads Service for carrying out this work and for the work they continue to do in the rural area,” said the Londonderry DUP Alderman.
