Patrick Mackle, of 81 Moy Road, Dungannon, Co Tyrone, pleaded guilty to two charges of failing to notify the death of a bovine animal, one charge of failing to keep a herd register, one charge of failing to comply with restriction notice prohibiting the movement of a bovine animal and one charge of knowingly providing information which was false.

He was fined £1,000 plus a £15 offenders levy.

The case arose from a number of discrepancies found at a Cattle Identification Inspection or audit of his herd carried out by Veterinary Service Enforcement Branch. DARD say breaches of regulations weakens traceability.
