'˜Dungannon fights must be reported to PSNI'

Ulster Unionist MLA Rosemary Barton is urging people to report shocking footage of fights to the PSNI, after two videos reported to have been taken in Dungannon went online.

She said: “It is shocking to see these images on social media. But, it is more shocking to know that these videos were taken here in Dungannon.

“I have contacted the PSNI and am assured that they are working tirelessly to prevent any repetition of what has emerged on Facebook. Violence has no place in our society, it accomplishes nothing and only lets down the image of our town.

“I would ask that if you discover a video on social media showing a fight taking place in a local area, then contact the PSNI and just make them aware of the footage.

“I would also encourage people not to share or repost these videos as they could be graphic or hard to watch at points. I will discussing ways in which we can reach out to those in the videos in a productive and progressive manner so this sort of behaviour on our streets is not repeated.”
