Dunloy Accordion Band annual parade

This Saturday (July 27th) Ballymoney will come alive to the sound of music as the members of Dunloy Accordion Band stage their annual parade in the town.

This year the band have decided to return to their roots with their traditional parade and have postponed the afternoon Ulster Scots festival that normally accompanied the parade for the interim.

However that is not to say there will be any less of an abundance of top quality music because as usual there will be music in the early evening with performances at Castlecroft from Baillies Mills Accordion Band from 6pm to 7.30pm. From 6.30 pm the focus will switch to High Street where there will be music provided by Churchill Flute Band from this year’s UK City of Culture and Ballyhalbert Flute band from the low country on the Ards peninsula.

The main parade of bands this year will follow the usual route through the town and will be led by Churchill Flute Band. Spectators are asked to note that this year the parade will again move off from the Showgrounds at 7.30 pm. The parade will feature all the usual nuances that make it so family friendly including The Friendly Faces, balloons, sweets, flags and face painters.

All of you music enthusiasts may be keen to learn that copies of previous years DVD’s priced at £5 for 3 or our current CD again priced at £5 can be purchased from Mark on 07871663841. The band is very much looking forward to the parade this year and extends a warm invitation to everyone to come along and enjoy a fantastic night of music.
