Dunloy man fined for no insurance

Robert Michael John Watson (20) of Loughabin Road was stopped by police on the Frocess Road last September.

Police discovered he had no insurance to drive the vehicle - an Isuzu Trooper.

A defence lawyer said his client - who is a farmer - believed he had been covered by his father’s policy at the time.

The court heard Watson’s father had passed away in May of last year, thus ending the insurance cover for the vehicle.

“It was an unfortunate situation,” said the lawyer.

Watson was fined 150 and had six points endorsed on his licence.
