Dunloy man supports Brain Injury Awareness Week

To mark Brain Injury Awareness Week, The Cedar Foundation has launched a special booklet entitled, ‘What’s on Your Mind?’

The booklet is a collection of service user’s own stories describing through poetry, art, photography and prose what it’s like living with a Brain Injury.

The booklet is a very honest and clear illustration that many who will have experienced Brain Injury will be able to relate to. Also very importantly, it will raise much needed awareness of the challenges people with a Brain Injury face on a daily basis. This booklet is available in a downloadable format by visiting www.cedar-foundation.org/bia

In addition, during Brain Injury Awareness Week, 35 service users were supported to access ‘My Cedar’, a section of Cedar’s new website where people can log in and interact with other service users across Northern Ireland.

Raymond Kelly from Dunloy said: “I really like using ‘My Cedar’, everything is clear and easily understood. I like reading the discussion blogs posted by other service users and look forward to reading more blogs in the future.”

The Cedar Foundation’s Brain Injury Services and the new website are both part financed by the European Social Fund and the Department for Employment and Learning.
