Dunluce Presbyterian Endeavourers success in Irish Talent Contest

Dunluce Presbyterian Junior Endeavourers have, once again, excelled themselves in the Irish Christian Endeavour Union’s Junior Talent Contest Finals, held in Carnmoney Presbyterian Church.

Irish Union Junior Convenor, Rosemary Carson together with Caroline Edgar and were responsible for this most successful event. The adjudicators, Mrs. Gillian Pitt, Mrs. Eileen Mel, Mrs. Dee Hawthorne and Mr. George Hewitt were very impressed with the standard of the talent of the young competitors.

Mrs. Gillian Thompson, Irish CE Union President, presented the Cups and certificates to the winners. Dunluce recipients included:

Class 1 – Solo 8 years and under – 1st Samantha Wilmot; 3rd Kathryn McMullan Class 3 – Solo 11, 12 and 13 years – 1st James McCullough.

Class 4 – Verse Speaking 8 years and under – Set Poem – to be learned by heart – 1st Samantha Wilmot; 2nd [tie] Lydia Kane and Kathryn McMullan.

Class 5 – Verse Speaking – 9 & 10 years – Set Poem – to be learned by heart -1st Jack McCullough. Class 6 – Verse Speaking 11, 12 and 13 years – Set Poem – to be learned by heart – 1st James McCullough.

Class 7 – Bible Reading 8 years and under – Psalm 121 v 5-8 [NIV] 1st Sarah Kane. Class 8 – Bible Reading 9 & 10 years – Philippians 4 v 4-8 [NIV] 2nd Jack McCullough. Class 9 – Bible Reading 11, 12 & 13 years – Psalm 40 v1-5 [NIV] 2nd James McCullough. Class 13 – Instrumental Solo [String] 13 years & under – 2nd James McCullough.Class 14 - Instrumental Solo [Wind] 13years & under – 2nd Jack McCullough. Class 19 – Singing Group [2-6 members] 13 years and under – 1st Dunluce Presbyterian.
