Bóthar based on Dunmurry Lane launched their annual Christmas Appeal encouraging people across Northern Ireland to give that extra special gift by making a donation to help the charity raise vital funds for families in need across
Rusizi, Rwanda.

The aid organisation is trying to help communities in the developing world create sustainable living environments for people that could not otherwise survive.

Pete Snodden from Cool FM said: “As we approach the Christmas season, I’d like to encourage everyone to consider making this year’s presents that extra bit special by giving a donation in lieu of gifts to the Bóthar Christmas appeal.

“As little as £30 can help to buy a share of an in-calf dairy cow that can truly change a family’s life. The milk
produced by the cow will not only provide nutrition for families but your funds will also help Bóthar to
build a creamery that will facilitate farmers to earn an income from the sale of
the milk.”

Bóthar NI Representative Aoibheann Fearon continued: “I’d like to encourage everyone to donate whatever they can afford to help us to help those that are in most need in Rwanda
this Christmas.

“We currently have 73 families waiting to see if they will be lucky enough to receive the gift of an Irish dairy cow. Your donation, no matter how small will help us to teach families how to raise and care for their cow and in turn they will then pass the first calf onto another deserving family within the community.

“Your donation will also allow us to build a much needed creamery in Rusizi and give this community the opportunity to take the next step in their development to help lift themselves
out of poverty”.

“Creameries are often the lifeblood of the developing world and can have a huge economic impact of regions but we really do need your help to make this happen and raise these funds. To help us to help them, we need you!”
