Duo celebrate stunning victory

NORTH West duo William Porterfield and Boyd Rankin yesterday (Wednesday) helped Ireland cause a major upset at this year’s ICC World Cup in India.

The skipper and pace bowler were part of the side that secured a memorable three wicket win over England, however Dubliner Kevin O’Brien was the man who stole the show, by scoring the quickest 100 in World Cup history, as Ireland incredibly chased down 328 runs.

Duo Paul Mooney and Alex Cusack also played their part in the historic success, Mooney hit the winning runs in his 34 run stint and he also secured four wickets during the England innings; while Cusack hit an equally impressive 47 runs and was also part of an 162 runs stand with O’Brien.
