Mr Buckley said that since the election he had been contacted personally by at least 50 people who didn’t vote last time, but want to make their voices heard should there be another election.

He said, “There are people who have fallen off the register and others whose children have never registered.

“I want to try and mobilise people and get them interested in the political system.

“Every vote counts. People have seen how close the elections have been and we have to be prepared. We will also be showing people how the PR voting system works and how to maximise unionist representation.”

He added, “I am hopeful there won’t be another elections but we can’t rule it out. What I want to see is stability.”

The event is being held in Carleton Street Orange Hall, Portadown, on Thursday, April 20 from 7-9.
