Durkan holds Foyle seat

THE SDLP'S Mark Durkan has retained the Foyle constituency seat in the General Election.

The former SDLP leader comfortably beat the Sinn Fin candidate, Martina Anderson into second place.

Mr Durkan polled 16,922 and Ms Anderson 12.098.

The DUP's Maurice Devenney took third place with 4,489. People Before Profit candidate Eamonn McCann polled 2,936, the Conservative and Unionist candidate, David Harding polled 1,221 and the Alliance candidate, Keith McGrellis took 223 votes.
