Dwelling refusal prompts meeting

BALLYMENA Councillor Deirdre Nelson has called for an office meeting with planners over their refusal of a proposal for a dwelling at Straid Road, Gracehill.

She made the successful call at last Thursday night’s Public Sector Liaison meeting of Council after a senior planning officer revealed the department was poised to turn down the proposal of Mrs S. Park for the demolition of an existing dwelling and its replacement with a new dwelling in cluster formation at the site some 100m west of 65 Straid Road.

Planners deemed the application, which attracted four letters of objection, to be contrary to policy on Sustainable Development in the Countryside.
