Each difficulty may hold a lesson

Take heart, God has promised to sustain you

Don’t lose your smile, though shadows fall

Faith and courage will keep you going

As you look upwards and recall.

The countless times that you’ve been blessed

And how events helped you to realise,

That things that seemed to mar your pathway

Were really blessings in disguise.

It’s not always easy to respond to

The unexpected things that come your way

Each difficulty may hold a lesson

Though unrevealed to you today.

Hold fast and stand on the written promises

And once again your blessings retrace,

To be thankful for all that passes your way

Gently releases God’s mercy and grace.
