East Antrim firm’s £2k Will Week Hospice windfall

Throughout the month, J.W McNinch & Son Solicitors waived their professional will-making fee and instead invited clients to make a discretionary donation to the NI Hospice.

Donor Officer Sharon Gorman was delighted to receive the donation of £2,050 from the Ballyclare, Glengormley and Larne offices.

She commented: “Northern Ireland Hospice would like to extend sincere gratitude and appreciation to J.W McNinch & Son Solicitors for their immense ongoing support.

“During the last few years these solicitors have really gone the extra mile to raise awareness about the Hospice and how vital wills are to the provision, growth and development of our service.

“Special thanks also to the generosity of the local community who kindly donated during Make a Will Month.

“The funds raised will help transform the lives of local children, young people and adults in need of hospice care.

“Furthermore, the widespread publicity generated by this campaign enabled Northern Ireland Hospice to highlight the importance of making a will and also how crucial legacy income is to the charity.

“No matter how big or small the amount, every gift in every will makes an immense difference to Hospice.

“In fact, last year these special gifts funded the care of 1 in 5 of hospice patients.

“We care for over 3,300 adults and children each year in Northern Ireland, both in the home and in the in-patient units.

“With annual running costs of over £9 million and limited government funding, we rely heavily on the support and generosity of the local community.

“Receiving £2,050 from Make a Will Month will make a tremendous difference to the lives of hospice patients across the province,” she concluded.

Northern Ireland Hospice is a local charity caring for adults, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses.

All money raised from Make a Will Month will go towards providing care.
