Easter Maths Day at Rasharkin PS

AN Easter Maths day was held in Rasharkin Primary School on Thursday 29 March, to jointly celebrate World Maths Day and Easter.

It gave all children in school the opportunity to work together to strategically solve maths-based activities. Children were divided into mixed age teams with older children helping the younger ones to complete their Rabbit (aka a Beetle drive), pass the ‘Rotten Egg’ (number sequence game), select the correct factor for their team in ‘Factor Frenzy’ and finally work co-operatively to make as many ‘human shapes’ as possible in the time given.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and were delighted when staff allowed their competitive streaks to show through too.
