Easter opening for exciting New Haven Café

Formerly known as The House of Brindle, the new café has been undergoing a transformation since January this year.

The ‘MAIL’ can now reveal that the wait is almost over as the café will be ready to trade at Easter.

The owners, brother and sister, Liam and Jenny Mulholland, are excited to finally be able to open their doors to the public.

“The building project has not been easy as we have tried hard to maintain the character and feel of this historic building, whilst including all the comforts and luxuries our customers will expect,” Liam shared. “Our team of local tradesmen have made this job easier, practically living on site over the three month construction time.”

Jenny has also commended locals for the interest.

“We have had great support from people passing the site, and a fantastic response to our job vacancies,” Jenny explained. “Almost 100 people applied for the 20 new job within a week of the jobs going online. We have selected a great team who are talented and excited to be part of this New Haven. We want to raise expectations of great food and great customer service in a fantastic environment and we believe we now have the team to deliver that. Local cook, Joanne McKinless, currently feeding customers at Icthus Coffee Shop, will direct the kitchen, along with an experienced team.”

New Haven hope to provide a place for all in the community to meet up and are welcoming enquiries from community groups and charities keen to partner them.

“We have plenty of space for groups to meet up informally and we would love to accommodate that,” Jenny offered. “We would also like to set up some charity links to use the money donated through the sale of our second hand books. Our gallery space would allow local artists and art students to display their work to the public. We ask anyone interested to email [email protected] ”
