Edwardians plan to line the route to welcome the Olympic Torch to Dervock

2012 marks the centenary of Kennedy K McArthur’s victory in the Olympic games.

As the villagers get set to welcome the Olympic torch to the village a group of enthusiasts are getting into the spirit of the time by dressing in the Edwardian period, including specially commissioned straw boaters.

So expect to see some beautiful Edwardian style from Downton Abbey upstairs and downstairs classes.

The group were inspired by the picture of McArthur returning to Ballymoney after his victory.

As the torch passes they will raise their hats as a tribute to the village’s famous son.
