Eglinton WI
The President, Ann Pinkerton, welcomed members of Eglinton WI and congratulated the Institute in winning both the Quiz and the Bowling Competition for the Londonderry Area.
She also congratulated Evelyn Galbraith, on winning the NI Womens’ Institute Bowling Competition and this is the first the cup has come to our Area since 1995. Evelyn was presented with a lovely bouquet of flowers.
Our speaker for the evening was Margot Caldwell, a very talented and knowledgeable gardener, and she gave us lots of tips and advice. Margot then showed us some lovely views of her garden which she cares for herself and members were given some leaflets with helpful hits which she had kindly prepared for us.
The winner of the competition for the prettiest posy was won by Iris Burns, second was Irene Boggs and third, Mattie Parkhill.
