Elderly man killed in Ballygawley blaze
An elderly man has died after a fire in Ballygawley on Thursday.
The fire started in the living room of the home in Knock Crescent in Ballygawley, Co Tyrone, at around 1pm yesterday.
The victim, thought to be in 90’s is believed to have been alone at the time. Police are not treating the fire as suspicious.
SDLP councillor Anthony McGonnell told the Belfast Telegraph: “Every year there are old people dying as a result of fires.
“There are a number living on their own who die in this dreadful way.”
