Elderly man left shaken after masked man demands cash

An elderly man has been left shaken after a masked burglar demanded cash at his Craigavon home.

Detectives are appealing for information following a burglary in the Ardowen area on Friday evening, 18 November.

Police said that at around 6.30pm a man entered a house and demanded money from the elderly male occupant before searching the house.

“The male made off empty handed,” said the PSNI. “The elderly male occupant was left shaken by his ordeal.

“The male had his face covered with a scarf and was wearing a baseball cap.”

Detective Constable Lauren Edwards is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw any suspicious males in the area yesterday evening to contact detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime in Lurgan on 101 quoting reference number 988 of 18/11/16. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
