Elderly woman burgled by man from the 'Water Board'

The house at Atkinson Avenue was burgled on the afternoon of Thursday, May 13.

Just after 2.30pm a man, posing as an employee of the Water Board, called at the home of an 84-year-old woman.

He entered the house and pretended to turn off the water and checked the taps. He then entered the pensioner’s bedroom where he stole some money.

The man is described as being 6 feet tall, in his early 50s and well-spoken wearing a green Hi-Vis jacket and walked off just as the primary school were getting out for the day.
