The meeting will take place in The Academy Sports Club, Hydepark. It is set to commence at 7.30pm.

Mr Kearney said: “It is essential that people seize every opportunity to voice their concerns on this important issue, and once again the NoArc21 group is leading from the front in providing a platform to allow them space to do that. While there is every hope that the anti-incinerator campaign will achieve its goal of finally putting this matter to rest in favour of the community, there is an ongoing appeal against the refusal for planning.”

The Sinn Fein representative added: “The case against the proposed Hightown incinerator is well documented, not least the potential serious impact on local infrastructure and the very real health concerns for those living and working in the greater Hightown area and beyond.”

Meanwhile, Colin Buick, Chairperson of NoArc21, has urged people to attend the meeting. He said: “I would urge those living in the communities who would be affected by the arc21 incinerator to continue to show their opposition by coming along to the public event. It is important that the local community sustains our long held position that an incinerator of this nature in our area is not safe, not sustainable and not sensible.”
