Electoral boundaries leaving public confused says Buchanan

DUP candidate for Torrent in the forthcoming Council election Keith Buchanan has said there is confusion amongst the public following the new electoral boundaries being put in place.

Mr Buchanan told the TIMES: “The next election will be a completely new format for loyal government but the new boundaries are leaving the public in confusion. People are unsure as to what area they are in.

“This is particularly acute in the Stewartstown area.

“I was in the area with Rev William McCrea and Lord Morrow and as we spoke to residents people were asking questions about the new structures.

“I have contacted the electoral office and asked them about what steps they are taking to educate the public. I trust they will take my concerns on board.

“The DUP offices in both Dungannon and Cookstown can help clarify for people who have questions about the new council boundaries.

“The wards in the Torrent (DEA) are Donaghmore, (Cappagh,Carland, Lisnagleer) Coalisland North, (Newmills) Coalisland South, Stewartstown, (Donaghey, Brigh, Ardtrea, Kingsmills)Ardboe, and Washing Bay.”
