‘Electric atmosphere’ for Chinese New Year

Carrickfergus residents have turned out in their numbers for Chinese New Year celebrations.

Activities ranging from face painting to art workshops had people of all ages joining in Saturday’s Town Hall event, which was supported by the Office of the First and Deputy First Minister.

Commenting on the programme organised by Carrickfergus Council and ArtsEkta, Janet Shearer, Good Relations officer, said: “The day was a great success with a very large turnout. The performers were excellent and the feedback has been very positive. The atmosphere on the day was electric.

“It was a great opportunity for the people of Carrickfergus to partake in the rich and colourful culture.”
