To make this year’s event extra special the council wishes to boost community spirit further by encouraging people to bring a picnic to the park and enjoy a ‘Big Lunch’!

The Big Lunch is an innovative idea from the environmental Eden Project organization.

Since the campaign started in 2009, thousands of Big Lunches have taken place across the UK. The aim is to get as many people as possible to have lunch with their neighbours and people within their local area once a year in a simple act of community, friendship and fun. So feel free to bring a picnic to enjoy during the afternoon performance.
