Entertaining contest brings down curtain on season

BURNDENNETT and Killyclooney brought their respective seasons to an end on Suday with an entertaining T20 contest that went the way of the visitors after a high scoring encounter.

Burndennett had been unable to field a team 24 hours earlier, allowing Sion Mills to add to their points tally, but there were no such problems here. Killyclooney batted first and posted a very competitive 164 for 5, Ken Colhoun hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes on his way to 54 and Stephen Barr adding 30. Stephen McCay and John McCormack picked up 2 wickets apiece and Ross McCay claimed the other for the home side.

Burndennett's reply was anchored by Mark Roulston who smashed 11 fours and 2 sixes in an unbeaten 82 whilst Stephen McCay added 36 in an opening stand worth 90. Despite having plenty of wickets in hand however Jimmy Boyle's side fell behind on the rate and were 10 runs short in the end.
