Entertaining time for Maze ladies

After the usual business, Ann introduced the speaker for the evening Ruth Graham. Ruth attended the ACCWW conference, which was held in Norway this year.

Seventeen WI members from Northern Ireland attended the conference.

Ruth gave a very informative insight into the conference from the moment she a boarded the plane in Dublin to her arrival in Bergen.

She also brought with her lots of humour and had everyone in fits of laughter.

Ruth also brought Iris Graham, another member who was with her in Bergen.

ACWW have many projects going on throughout the world. To contribute towards these the Northern Ireland ladies knit woolly hats. These were sold and £1360 was raised.

After Ruth’s talk a delicious supper was served. The birthday girl for the month was Winnie Eccles. The competition for the best dressed banana was won by Ann Whaley, second Hilda Law and third Eleanor Suffren. The evening came to a close with the singing of the Country Women’s Song.
