Entertainment Licence isapproved for city venue

LISBURN City Council’s Environmental Services Committee has recommended that an application for a Public Entertainment Licence for Molly’s Parlour be approved for six months.

At the meeting the Assistant Director reported the receipt of an application for the premises in Castle Street, Lisburn.

However, it was noted that an objection on the grounds of noise disturbance had also been received from a local resident.

The Assistant Director pointed out that noise had also been emanating from another nearby premises that did not have a Public Entertainment Licence and the resident making the objection could not specify which premises the noise was coming from. The owner of the other premises was advised that no further entertainment should be carried out in the absence of such a licence.

Monitoring of the noise disturbance will be carried out over several weeks before a full assessment can be made and a further report on the matter brought back to the Committee.

It was agreed to recommend that the application for a Public Entertainment Licence for Molly’s Parlour be approved for six months and that a further report on the matter be brought back to the Committee for decision.
