Enthusiastic start to Larne Art Club’s new season

Larne Art Club’s new season got off to an enthusiastic start, with the two-part Louis Humphreys’ demonstrations drawing capacity audiences.

Two special evenings, held at the Larne Museum and Arts Centre in the Carnegie building, attracted an enthusiastic audience who explored the finer detail of oil-on-board techniques.

The rolling programme of Tuesday evening demontrations continues on October 2 when another leading Irish artist Drew Montgomery takes the floor. Again the theme is painting with oils, but with another diverse pallet of techniques. It starts at 7.30pm.

Larne Art Club’s classes have also commenced. They take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7.30pm and club secretary Patricia Rapp says “new members are always welcome”.

The midweek class, which is tailored by Philip Malcolm to coach and coax beginners, is filling up quickly proving as it did last season to be a popular outing.
