Entrepreneurs event at CIDO

POTENTIAL entrepreneurs thinking of setting up their own businesses and existing business owners who want to grow their business were invited to meet business experts at a free event held by CIDO on Friday,

Delegates were given a wealth of practical marketing tips by Joe McCormack of Professionals into Business and advice on how to build brand and profile through PR by Lynda Willis of Customer Sense Training and Consultancy. 

Peter Morton of Morton Consultancy advised the attendees on the importance of business plans and Michael Hanna of PES Solutions gave advice on growing businesses whilst Stuart McLean from Chooboo offered advice on website development, SEO and email marketing and CIDO’s Louise Cushnahan gave details of the new business start programme ‘Be Your Own Boss’ launching in CIDO this month.

In addition to the experts above representatives from Craigavon Borough Council’s SOAR Programme, The Federation of Small Businesses, Health and Safety Works NI, Southern Regional College and Ulster Bank were on hand to advise on the support they can offer new and small businesses.

CIDO business adviser, Karen Adamson said: “Although this is a tough time for business and certainly for business start-ups, history has shown us that successful businesses can be launched during major recessions and economic down turns.

This was an excellent opportunity for anyone considering going into business or growing an existing business to obtain free advice from a wealth of experienced business advisors.

CIDO regularly host business events and workshops and will be running a free social media day on Wednesday, February 8 for 9am – 5pm where Social Media expert Bill McCartney will deliver four workshops covering Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Youtube.
