Big summer clean-up at Doury Road Estate

STAFF from Environmental Services Department and Operational Services Department of Ballymena Borough Council, Doury Road Residents Association and Local Residents carried out a big Clean-up of the Doury Road Estate on Wednesday, August 10.

The clean up was part of Big Spring Clean 2011, an annual initiative supported by Tidy Northern Ireland. The main aim of the incentive being to encourage and support local residents in carrying out a litter clean-up of their immediate neighbourhood whilst at the same time raising their awareness of what waste items can be recycled.

The event was a huge success with over 60 black bags of litter plus other bulky items being collected from within the estate.
