Call for clean up

A CALL has been made to clean up an overgrown path near Lurgan Park.

Alderman Stephen Moutray MLA and Mayor of Craigavon Councillor Carla Lockhart have called on the authorities to resurface a stretch of pathway leading to the park.

The pathway in question is located at Lime Grove and has fallen into a bad state of repair.

Speaking on the matter the DUP pair said: “We have called on the relevant authorities to take action and have this pathway cleaned and resurfaced if required.

“This pathway that leads to the park is a well known and well used stretch of walkway but unfortunately over the years it has been allowed to become grown over with weeds, debris, and is a hot spot for dog dirt.

Residents who use this path have became annoyed about the lack of attention it is receiving and therefore we intend to meet with the NIHE, Road Service and Craigavon Borough Council to try and obtain a resolve to this long running problem.”
